The Future of the Past Exhibition

Dozens of consoles are on show, from the 1972 Magnavox Odyssey, to the late-1970s Prinztronic Tournament 10 and the better-known 1994 Sony PlayStation.

Packed into a small room and tucked away at the top of the Portsmouth City Museum for the next six months, 128 consoles are on show for the Future of the Past exhibition.

All of the consoles on show – eight of them playable – are from Steve Lowe’s collection.

London Gaming Market - 2nd April, 23rd July and the 5th November

The London Gaming Market is THE place to buy retro video-games, board games and merchandise all in one place.

Brought to you by Replay Events, Showmasters and Dark Cleo Productions, The London Gaming Market is the first event of its kind held in the heart of London.
London Gaming Market will be held every 4 months at the Royal National Hotel in Russell Square London. The event dates for 2017 are 2nd April, 23rd July and the 5th November.

The doors open at 11am, tickets available on the door. Events closes at 4pm. Early entry tickets cost £5, tickets after 12pm cost £2. Children under 14 can enter for free when accompanied by a paying adult. Tickets are only available on the door, no presale tickets available.

Play Expo - Leeds - 16th April 2017

Video Game Carnival - Aldershot, Hampshire - 22nd April 2017

After a bit of a break, Video Game Game returns once again to the West End Centre. And we've been given a bit more space to play with this time :-)

Carnival favourites like the Giant Gameboys, Fruitcade and Laser Pong will return once again. Retro video gaming will be catered for with a large selection of Consoles, Computers, and Arcade Machines from popular favourites to more obscure machines. And into the modern era we'll have a selection of local indie developers showing off there latest games.

There will be fun competitions running throughout the day and interactive sessions on the likes of JS Joust and in virtual reality.

NERG - Gateshead International Stadium - 1st to 2nd July 2017

About NERG

NERG is a yearly event for the North East, bringing retro gaming back to the modern day. Some of the best loved video and pinball machines from yesteryear will be at your fingertips once more to bring those arcade memories flooding back. Relive your childhood over the entire weekend and also introduce younger relatives to how you spent your teenage years….and pocket money!

The Event
NERG 2017 will be the 5th annual event. We’re holding the event at Gateshead International Stadium with a wide variety of retro classics for your enjoyment! The aim is to collect together 100 video arcade machines, 60 pinball machines and 60 consoles. There will also be competitions, fun and games as well as a cosplay.

Goal
Nostalgia is the key. Step back in time for a full weekend of pure old school gaming. Entertain yourself with a choice of over 100 different arcade classics. All set to free play! Retro games such as Space Invaders, Star Wars and Frogger. Gaming exactly how you remember it. But from now, they don’t have to be just memories anymore.

Retro Computing Festival - 16th - 17th Sept 2017

An entire weekend dedicated to the Retro Computing Community. The Centre for Computing History will be opening it's doors on the 16th & 17th September 2017 and welcoming enthusiasts to exhibit their personal collections, retro computing mods and hacks.

The event is still very much in the ideas and planning stage, but if you would like to be involved as an exhibitor please do contact : jason@computinghistory.org.uk

The event will be free to exhibitors and entry for visitors is just standard museum entry.
